Good alternatives to mainline Sonic games exist now, its not quite the same situation as it was during the Dark Age of Sonic where it being the only accessible franchise of its gameplay type meant that you had to play mediocre games to get your fixture of "gotta go fast". hopefully anyway.Īnd hey, if you're not too pleased about what you're hearing about Sonic Frontiers, perhaps you will like games like Spark 3, FP2 and the two fangames mentioned. With the review scores for Frontiers coming out it sounds like fans are still making better content than Sega and Sonic Team but the gap has significantly closed and the Triple A budget will show itself for the next title. The issue is that its not easy to compare all of these games as I suspect a majority of people in this Steam forum have not played any of the listed games or haven't played all of them at any rate.
